Meet Coach Jess - a lifelong swimmer with deep roots in our community, having once been both a swimmer and coach right here at Hurley Rec! Her love for the water is matched only by her passion for working with children and helping them grow both in and out of the pool.
Currently a 6th grade teacher at Miller, Jess brings a natural talent for connecting with kids, fostering teamwork, and building confidence in every swimmer she meets. She believes in creating a positive and inclusive environment where each athlete feels supported, challenged, and celebrated.
Hello Hurley Tiger Sharks and families, I am thrilled to be an Assistant Coach this summer. My goal is to help every swimmer build confidence, learn new skills, improve stroke technique, and have a fantastic time in the water. All while fostering a safe swimming environment which leads to a positive TEAM attitude. I have over 20 years of experience in teaching swimming. At least 12 of those years has been teaching swimming to 9th grade students at Kingston High School. My favorite part of teaching swimming is helping students overcome their fears and reach their fullest potential. Having a high school student tell me they went to their first pool party because I taught them to swim melts my heart! I look forward to working with everyone this summer! Just keep swimming!
My name is Drew Uhl and I am one of the assistant coaches. This is my 3rd year as a coach and I’ve been a Tiger Shark for 8 years. I was the captain for the Kingston High School varsity swim and dive team and I’m graduating this month. I am excited to see what the team and each individual swimmer accomplish this season. Fun Fact my favorite TV show is Suits.
Hi I’m Coach Kate! I just graduated highschool this year and I’ve been on the Hurley Tiger Sharks since I was 8! This will be my third summer coaching and I’m so excited for the season! Fun fact - I play 4 sports soccer, basketball, flag and swim!
